Project Description

Persistent Scatterers Interferometry is applied at provincial / national scales, generating ground displacement and infrastructure stability information at very competitive measurement accuracy and pricing, when compared with any other geodetic techniques.

Patterns of water flow and water

The Ottawa-Montreal corridor (9.2 million targets) was monitored for ground and infrastructure stability during 2015-2020, using Sentinel-1 data.

In the Ottawa region, north of Mer Bleue Conservation Area (Orleans), subsidence affecting the residential area was detected

Patterns of water flow and water

An example of a displacement profile in the Orleans area is illustrated below; measured deformation rate is around half centimeter/year

Local subsidence areas were detected in southern and northern Gatineau

Patterns of water flow and water

Southern Gatineau local subsidence illustrated at original monitoring resolution (5 x 20 meters squared).

Ottawa-Montreal corridor

Local subsidence area in northern Gatineau. Subsidence rates of around 1 centimeter/year were observed.

Displacement profile in northern Gatineau

A large number of local subsidence areas were detected in the area of Montreal and environs

Patterns of water flow and water

The area containing the cities of Saint Julie and Saint Amable are affected by subsidence

Saint Julie - Saint Amable

Local subsidence areas in Old Montreal. Subsidence rates of around 2 centimeters/year were observed.
